"YOUR BODY'S POETRY" -Sia, Move Your Body

HELLO EVERYONE!
You might not know it, but behind almost all of my drawings are explanations or reasons why I drew this in particular. This illustration is no exception. Let me tell you the little story behind it. You might not know it (again!) but I'm not a very confident person and I usually hide parts of my body that I'm not proud of (hey there, belly and arms!) But one saturday night, my sisters took me to the cinema and I was not updated so I was absolutely not ready. With the little time left, I could only change my pants and put some shoes on and left wearing the cropped top that I had been wearing (pictured above). I usually wear high-waisted pants with it because we can see a lot of my belly in it, but this once I had no time. And you know what? I was fine! Just fine. I walked and saw myself in the glasses in the street and thought to myself "Hey! Not that bad! You look quite great!" Normally, I would've put my hands to hide my belly or pull down my shirt every two seconds. But this day, I felt just great and wanted to celebrate it with a drawing! Because feeling great is great!
While I'm fully aware that there WILL be days where I won't be able to find this feeling anywhere near, I wanted to tell you guys that it is okay to feel that way too! Everything is okay, and when you feel like your body is hideous or else, just watch yourself in a miror and tell yourself that you are great, you have qualities too like everyone in this world, you just need to enlight them! Because feeling great or good is something everyone should be able to feel and I just wanted to remind you of that,, so yeah, huge paragraph about body positivity
Also, to help you feel great, you should listen to the song that also inspired this drawing (yeah, my spirit is inspired by a lot of things) which is in the title already: Move your Body, by Sia. I just love it, she makes you want to dance and when I thought about this drawing, I had her song in my mind at the same time, hence the association! Bye folks ;) (oh and for the lyrics, I'm still not sure if it's "speak to me" or "it speaks to me" so humm sorry?)
